Through This Inhumanity

Having thought more hopefully
Of late I wait for fate to see
If I have been right or not
About such hope as I have got
Not having had much before

But having some I want some more
Giving me reason to be
Looking for something to hope for
Late in the season of me
Being more hopeful than I thought
I ought to be formerly

More open to be hopeful than
I was as a younger man
Consumed by that hunger for what
I thought I wanted out of
It but it was not it was love
That wanted me hauntingly
What I got out of it was in

Living up to love again
Not giving up coming this far
I remember who we are
And all I care for anymore
Is seeing us being free

Hoping for our humanity
To surprise us in the end
To rise up again and transcend
More powerful than we knew
But we humans know what to do
Through this inhumanity

Being human after all
Is how to see the tower fall

Ahhh . . . Those last two lines, my friend, they say so very, very much. The whole poem is brillantly written, and capsuled within those last couple of lines.

Well said, nice write. I agree with Mr. Hull's conclusion about how fitting it was, the way you ended your poem.

Cheers,

I love the way you end this poem by taking it away from your personal situation and focusing on the greater need of humanity to wake up and solve our problems with love.

Sometimes hope is not enough to make things hsppen, but we continue to hope anyway.
