By Reason of Insanity
By the time I got a six-pack it was wrinkly
But better late than never anyway
I may never get wise but my eyes got twinkly
From what they have seen I had better not say
But I get to forget after all the regret
I got through in the life review up here
Getting older than I ever thought I could get
Haunted but wanting to get through the fear
And the sadness that comes along with the madness
Paranoia may destroy me first and yet
The worst part of madness to me is the sadness
But I believe in destiny and I
May not be wise but my twinkly eyes have seen it
Between the stars to mean it in the sky
After the hard way for the best of me this way
For the rest of my season of poetry
My destiny by reason of insanity
