Beyond the Shadows The sky is spotted today With little clouds drifting over The Hi-Desert hideaway Each just big enough to cover The sun within its shadow Until they slowly blow away As above and so below A cavalcade of cotton balls As over and out they go On to be gone when evening falls When the stars come out to play And darkness fills with sparks of dawn Until tomorrow comes then All the sparks burning into one Turning into day again Returning to say we go on Learning how for now to know We go on going anyway Now turning out to be when Until we go not to be gone But to go on all the way May you and I and everyone Meaning well know what we mean May our light be seen after all Sparking the darkness between May we rise up never to fall Shining on like stars someday Beyond the shadows of the sun Steven Curtis Lance
