Before

Not to see the Nazis now when
Somehow here they are again
Relitigating World War Two
Seems a hateful thing to do
A fateful blindness at a time
When history comes to rhyme

Ungrateful for who fought and died
Last time when the Nazis tried
Then what we thought had come and gone
Coming back now going on

Not the time to hide inside but
Vote them out no matter what
It takes to make them see we see
Who is or not a Nazi
Illicit those complicit know
We see who will have to go

The only way is up and this
Lonely chance not one to miss
When after all we have our say
Before they take it away

That last line screams at us to get out there and vote! Vote like your life depends upon it because it does!

Love ya!

Not all Germans went along with Nazi ideals. But a good portion were still shellshocked from World War I to realize what was happening to them when they cheered on the brown shirts. But young people don't often learn from history… Only their own history. These ideas rise again. What is important is that we vote and that we do not let Nazi rhetoric to take over our media and our lives.

What isn't well-known is that 6 million German citizens were placed in concentration camps and killed for no other reason than they would not bow down to Hitler.

I'm really having a hard time understanding the hatred that's going on around us, and how easy people fall for conspiracy theories. We are indeed living in sad times.
