I learned to care about other people when
It turned out they cared about me and then
I could see how it was and it was because
I returned the feeling and there I was
Feeling like part of humanity again
Feeling the way a human being does
To realize I knew what I had not known
Surprised to find I had not been alone
But among my own human kind all along
I thought nobody cared but I was wrong
I seem to have had to learn this the hard way
Had to go mad it turned out anyway
To see people who care and were always there
But now I can see we are everywhere
