Out of the Corner of My Eye I The sky will turn the corner soon The day that was is done The sun set at 5:41 To rise at 6:18 At the other end of the day But for now anyway The sun is in the in between Has gone but is not gone Through the ups and downs of it The meaning of the light goes on Though going on unseen Knowing this until 6:18 Believing in the sun I will look forward to the moon Until 1:29 When soon it risingly will be Surprising to be seen The meaning of the moon to shine Between us what we mean Through the ups and downs to let The meaning of the light come dawn Tonight through the unseen When dawn is not so far away But in the in between II The folly of my youth Becomes the wisdom of my age Because I learned the truth Of love from my apprentice mage We used to call you then But we know who the mage has been The magic was your own You taught me everything I knew That you had always known Believing in your magic to Make me believe it too The magical reality Of us as we alone Through all these years of you and me Franziska it was you III February is when The month ends three days early then March before I know it Out of the corner of my eye The hope I tend to get Around the corner of the sky The sun may shine on me Reminding me what I forgot But I remember now From all the days when it did not In February how It was until March entered in But now it has somehow Winter seems more like what has been Than what I hope I see Out of the corner of my eye March bringing spring to be Around the corner of the sky Steven Curtis Lance
