Along About April

It gets easier for me to be
Along about April when I can see
Spring doing its thing encouraging

A little encouragement is the thing
I needed when it was dark and cold
So long and I felt myself getting old
Then is when it got discouraging

But winter is done now spring has begun
Wanting to be more than anything
Encouraging me existentially

It gets easier to be for me
Along about when hope is everything

To be more than I have ever been
The light coming in incrementally
Might be enlightenment finally

Seeing the light invite me to being
I feel myself getting younger when
Letting in spring getting better again
What winter got wrong put right by spring

A little stronger every day the sun
To smile on me and on everyone
For a little while longer every day

Along about April may I be
For a little while longer anyway

I love spring and the longer days of sunlight. Winter leaves me depressed.

Beautiful. Spring has a way of renewing our spirit.

Yeah! You'll get all tan and play with those dusty desert dogs! Your words got me more eager for summer than ever! I feel like a little school girl!

Love ya!

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
