Yes Nonetheless

Not quite sure where the time has gone
Or how I got to be an old man
But for now I do what I can
Going not knowing but going on

Like for the first time like a kid
Who never did before but I did
Though having had to forget it
It would drive me mad if I let it

Now arriving at 65
Mad nonetheless here I am I guess
After pride went before a fall
Arriving meant surviving at all

Saying yes to staying alive
Like for the first time yes nonetheless
Though having had to regret it
Life says let it be so I let it

Between this heartbeat and this breath
This tick-tocking clock of life and death
My head knows it might not be long
But my heart hopes my head might be wrong

You're still young at 65. I'm not far behind. We have miles to travel and years to go.

Yes, a lifetime gone in a heartbeat. But we can't sit around and mourn. Now is the time to be productive and make the best of our writing ability. Time to move away from regret and toward sharing wisdom with others.

Tell me about it, Steven! Yesterday I was battling acne. Today I'm battling wrinkles. I'd rather have the acne. It makes you look young!! (just joking!)

Love ya!

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
