Timelessness Wearing a wristwatch the horse took a dive The Timex kept on ticking It took a licking but it would survive The horse though felt like kicking I felt sorry for that horse having to Dive to the sea from the pier Not the best equestrian thing to do Not done anymore I hear I never wear a wristwatch anymore Arriving at 65 Knowing what time it is more than before But I saw it on TV With John Cameron Swayze telling us Back in 1963 To buy that Timex he was selling us Speaking with authority The hands of the wristwatch made their demands That we be untimelessly With hurry and worry compelling us To arrive on time to be Having survived until now still alive Albeit reclusively Out of the struggle I no longer strive With time to be timelessly Happily for me it happens for free Not having time on my hands I let go and bet a horse understands Of course that horse would agree Timelessness is timely now About out of time for me anyhow Steven Curtis Lance

John Cameron Swayze sure spoke with authority. Sold a lot of watches. While watches seem to be a necessity, at 20, I determined that my wristwatch no longer fit my atrophied wrist and I continued on through life, rarely missing anything and on time or early for most. Clocks were everywhere.

My father once showed me his drawer full of broken Timex watches. He told me that he liked them for his profession of loading and unloading trucks because they were cheap at $10 apiece and tough.

Certainly a timely piece for your life as it winds down into timelessness.
