Back when I fell back
I was ready to spring forward
Up from down the crack
Of winter gloom I look toward
2 AM hoping
The pendulum begins to swing
In light of this hour
To bring me back the light of spring
Sing me into flower
Back from the crack of doom to see
The light now instead
Of turning back to loss and lack
Better days ahead
To see the light return to me
That had turned away
To feel it turn to me and say
To be glad to be
Here for the after of before
For the balancing
What I was saving daylight for
Back to save the day
It is interesting how it is called "daylight savings time," as though daylight could be saved. But we all know that it increases toward summer and that spring is a way of renewing ourselves through the wondrous coming of the light.
I don't see the light exactly like you, but I appreciate the way you see it in your poems.
