Not Today



I never minded being crazy but
I never got used to being sad
That sad part I find is what makes me mad

When I pray I mention this and say
I have gotten used to what I have got
Except for that sad part I have not

So I would rather not be sad today
Otherwise madness would be OK
I say to whoever is listening

Glad for not too bad for having had
More trouble with sadness than anything
Mere madness could ever imagine

Having had more than my share anyway
When I feel like I might not be real
Being there seeing from the outside in

Sad is the loneliest way to feel
When madness gets real then and it feels bad
But like coming true for going through

Whoever I may be saying this to
Not today not that sad part again
