Brother Dog is like a deacon or a dean
Proctor or doctor of philosophy
Having gravitas for having come this far
No wonder he understands what I mean
For having come the long way along with me
He knows both who he is and who we are
And the meaning of us understood between
A couple old guys wanting to be wise
But haunted by life and the death we have seen
This is it nor can it be otherwise
Brother Dog has seen himself and me as we
In this reality we realize
Having stood with me in solidarity
Oddly godly deacon beacon of light
Dog you come through darkness to enlighten me
Through what might frighten me to come out right
As the god in you brings out the dog in me
Today to see that we might be alright
A spark of the divine seen through canine eyes
To open mine to hope for what might be
For a couple old guys through time as it flies
The rest of the way to see what we see
To say we did our best today tonight
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
