Madman



I used to be an eccentric
But I am a madman now
As such much less egocentric
Having learned the hard way how
To be or not but otherwise

Now I realize somehow
It had to be this way for me

To do what I do the way
I do symptomatically
But lovingly anyway
And yes I guess obsessively
Otherwise as you have seen

So you can see through other eyes
Understanding Lancean

And maybe even me someday
Wondering about between
The lines to find out what I say
Knowing you know what I mean
Though I had to be a madman

For me what it means to be
Is between us and poetry
