FRAGILE

FRAGILE

 

Vacant eyes stare across the room unblinking

Arms wrapped around legs pulled tight to her chest

Rocking, rocking, rocking…incessant rocking

A faint moan rises up to mingle with the silence

She sits hidden from view behind the chair

It’s the only fortress she could find

She’s ill prepared to battle the demon

The one to which she’s married

Trapped within herself she feels no pain

She hears not the vile names she’s called

Nor does she feel the fists that pommel her

Her fragile skin bears the marks of many attacks

Screams of pain were of no use against her tormenter

It’s as if it were music to his ears

He bore that evil grin like a badge of honor

Dare me…Beg me…Plead all you want

Give him more reasons to beat her down again

That’s when the silence falls within her

He can’t fight against a stone

That is what she is

 A stone

that

Rocks…rocks…rocks…

The emotional barrage of abuse is a reality of our society....with so many within it's grasp. The disease has turned many into the rocking frailty of sadness ...

This is something I guess I will never understand
How one person can do that to another
I think all abusive people should be put on an island and let them abuse eachother

Cracks beneath my skin reading this -- powerful, powerful write. It is so upsetting--these children, most of them raised by parents that dote on them--what a waste of humanity--I don't even know what to say. People like that should not be allowed to couple! --Charlie
