This Moment You can’t promise a tomorrow This moment is all we have We talk of life and love And all our days of sorrow. We walk the endless days With an emptiness inside Hollow eyes looking to a future Fearing that we’ll always feel this way. Searching for some ray of light That one bright spot of joy When two people come together A meeting of words instead of sight. From the very first hello We seemed to know each other well We laughed and joked and teased Long after the sunsets glow. Common interest, we have more than a few The funny stories you could tell You could make me smile for hours And cry a few tears too. Our spirits we were sharing Confessions of long dark secrets Acknowledging painful truths Silent hope that the other was caring. Closed doors are opening wide The walls are starting to crumble Each day is bringing us closer Knowing someone is on our side. Dee ©2002/9/6
