Divine Union
It took almost a lifetime,
But was worth the wait;
Yet all it really took
Was just one “click.”
Why is this so special?
We are a marriage of
Both heaven and earth;
Between accepting souls
And expecting spirits.
No more painful struggles
To control life and get there;
Just letting go and being here.
Here we’re both teachers,
Sharing our special stories
Of the road we traveled—
What we did, where we went,
When, why and how.
Just to be here for us,
And give each other
Our missing half—
Me with wild imagination
Her with comforting realness;
Sharing ideas and experiences,
Making final sense
Of endless questions,
By listening and remembering
About the halves we both bring
To this very special union—
A divinely inspired union
Between our restless spirits
And forever growing souls;
Forever wanting excitement,
Yet also craving peace,
To carry us far into eternity.
Two very different people,
But same age, sign and goals;
Magically together as one:
To love and be loved,
Using our special gifts
Making God’s world
A little better place
Inch by inch, heart by heart;
Being forever thankful
For this divine union,
Knowing it was meant to be.
