The Ways of Life

Wondering of this or that,

Here’s a question to ponder:

Terrible twins within.

Or terrific twins akin?

No matter though,

Only one thing to know,

The intended order,

Of what comes first,

And what comes next;

Looking before seeing,

Paying before playing,

Getting before giving,

Thinking before doing;

Or,

Talking after listening,

Answering after asking,

Peace after pain,

Sunshine after rain;

Or,

Working then playing,

Loving then loved,

Losing then winning,

Living then dying;

Only one thing to see,

Being out of order here,

To see the correct order,

Losing your usual self,

To find your real self;

Seeing the ways of life,

With these two twins,

Being much more terrific,

And much less terrible,

Enjoying the whole truth.
