Sleep in eternal slumber,

covered by the barren earth.

Morning was just an enigma,

Night a beautiful echo.

No pain, nor comfort

does time afford circumstance.

Too many have passed,

in an indeterminable journey.

Dust and decay was the Master...

all along.

To contemplate a meaning

was folly from the start.

Then, sleep in endless sleep.

As we blend into the darkness.

Heartache was just a word.

And dreams were always dreams...and nothing more.

Dreams were dreams, and no more.

The last line makes it quite clear how much of life is just rumination of the same old same old. All that drama amounts to naught if one has only ones seed to pass on.

Sometimes, Cela, I tend to believe that everything here on earth (space too?) is an illusion. Cool write.

If there were no more dreams, then I am sleeping that endless sleep.

The illusion is that the dream isn't real. An interesting poem. Thoughtful.
