In a time now almost forgotton women once used Goose Grease as face cream. Indeed Queen Elizabeth 1 is recorded as using such.
*WHAT HATH THEE DONE* *TO THY FAIR FACE* *DOTH IT NOT LOOK SAD* *TIS A DISGRACE* *WHY HATH THEE SMITTEN* *ALL OVER YOUR PURE SKIN* *GOOSE GREASE THAT ARRESTS THE AIR* *WITH A WHIFF LIKE FODDER* *TIS BEING PREPARED.* *oH FAIR MAIDEN* *GRACE THEE WITH THESE TIMES* *LEAVE THE GOOSE GREASE* *LEAVE IT FAR BEHIND,* *I FEAR IF YOU STAND IN THE SUN* *YOU MIGHT CRISP ON THE SURFACE* *THY SKIN LIKE CRACKLING* *WELL DONE.*
