I really do try
to understand
how an obnoxious person
becomes so grand.
How they lead a country
amid poverty and violence
while they feed their face
and are entertained by riots.
I could be cruel
call them all sorts of names
but for them
there are none I can find,
none that fit
their magintude and stature,
for being so obnoxious
in many matters.
Yet true it is
they have been wined and dined
by kings and queens
by heads of state
leaves me wondering
those ones must be as bad,
is it me or has this world gone mad?
