Tired heart
wants to break
too much to do
to let that happen.
So body wills
all system go
so it is not gonna happen.
At least not now
they all wait for you
your the only guy
who knows what to do.
No one thinks
your ever half scared
that you will be blown to pieces
if these things
go off,
someone has to do it
so your instructor said
then you heard him mutter
'Your a long time dead when your dead.'
Bomb disposal
what a name
like a poshed up refuse collector
cleaning up rubbish much the same.
Yet When I'm out there
I want peace and quite
and all I hear
is my ruddy pounding heart.
Still it is a good sign
means I am still alive
might get a postumus medal
if I snip the wrong line.

The second movie, The Hurt Locker, was a recently acclaimed movie about bomb disposal in Iraq. This movie was more about bravery and heroism under very difficult circumstances. Both movies are very worthwhile to watch.
As desperate people seek ways of showing their pain by using bombs, more and more, others will be caught up in trying to disarm and dispose of bombs.
