Had fear ever driven you to make severe interpretations out of nothing?

A face among the evening shades
where doubt and fear oft intertwine,
illumined by the vile charades
that wait upon a false design.

His anxiousness—her discontent
she must endure to keep him sane,
and comprehend his far descent
into that realm where love is slain.

A simple word from sweetened lips
he found again the promised calm
to bring him back from dark eclipse
and give anew that healing balm.
