We moan...for the 'Lion' sleeps

but Oh!..that he once lived!

What a record of valour he indeed did keep

the foundation of many laws in place...he did

He came forth on heartache's ashes

but worked tirelessly...

despite personal pain's lashes

And whether he was agreed with... or naught

the validity of his stand...well admired 

was always clearly wrought

The paths his paws once tread

bare the imprints...of convictions weight

Thus, his leadership...from 'fearless bred'...

will not cease to touch this land's... four gates

Yes...a rare 'Lion'

has taken his rest...a 'servant' sleeps

But Ted Kennedy's deafening 'roar'...

now and onward...still speaks
