My first attempt at something like this if anyone has suggestions to improve it please let me know.

IT Had To Be

Verse

Gave it all I had
Will time be on my side
Found this heart and soul
Took it all in stride
Now I stand alone
Alas I'm proud and free
To win it on my own
No more mystery

Chorus

Just knew it had to be
Was long, long overdue
The fear inside is gone
Tomorrow's sun anew

Verse

Must try to touch the sky
It's near within my reach
Push those clouds aside
I must fulfill my dream
Sweet victory is mine
This quest comes to an end
The light will guide me now
No more to pretend

Chorus

Just knew it had to be
Was long, long overdue
The fear inside is gone
Tomorrow's sun anew

Close

Gave it all I had
Time was on my side
Took this heart and soul
Brought it for a ride
Just knew it had to be
Was long, long overdue
The fear inside is gone
Tomorrow's sun anew

Love the rhythm and the theme. The only suggestion I have is to
replace condescend with something more concrete. All the other words you have chosen are simple and direct. How about something along the lines of "The light will guide me now/ that I have made it 'round the bend?" or "come around the bend?" or...hmmm...."that I am on the mend?" You can do a lot better. Just trying to get across my thoughts. Thank you for putting a song in my heart. 'Pea' <3

It flows well, .Perhaps it could be made a little longer with a few more verses. I think most songs last about 2 to 3 min.. Of course with an arrangement and musical interludes , the time would be extended.. Well done......M

Sounds good to me Paul, of course through other eyes things can always be improved but you did a good job. Now all we need is a singer and some music

Good job for a first timer in the genre. Pick the right melody and let the music guide any further work on it.

Powerful thoughts lyrically expressed. With a strong melody, this would be on everyone's lips and easily assimilated into the heart and mind's memory banks... In other words, a big hit! TY K xx

Put to music, it would be a winner. There is some underlying mystery in the words that sparks dozens of posibilities in my head.
