Haggard's Halls ( Part XVII )

A wraith to sate, I'm bound by fate,
communion time draws near.
One can't expunge with every lunge,
that which remains unclear.

This torch I bear was lit in tear
each totem speaks remorse.
They sear a soul, though dank and cold,
may be their albatross.

Feared god of night, with all your might,
I shall not walk alone.
Push dark aside, light be my bride,
'til I am called back home.

Blank eyes of dread, in scrolls it's read,
though eerie are thy squalls ;
Words worn to script shall be your crypt,
beneath these Haggard Halls.

Paul,

An excellent addition to the series. Great rhythm and rhyme urge the reader to the end. This one has some deep meaning hidden in verse. A pleasure to read! Enjoy the new year:)

So beautiful, Paul. Deep and meaningful. "...I shall not walk alone... light be my bride, 'til i'm called back home." Poignant. Write on dear Poet! Have a prosperous and healthy new year, my good friend. Lots of love and hugs from the Philippines!

Paul, Fee could not have said it better. This poem was magnificent. I love the style and the reflection of it. The lips of a Bard, maybe.
More so a true poet.
