Senses precious! Your gifts of awareness
Have met their match! Flower-raptured fervor
Grips my form in shackled scent! Timelessness,
Move not — tossed in memories endeavor…
Honeysuckle fever levers my mind,
Seizures of fragrance wring me dry, closed eyes
Enhance delirium contained entwined
In climbing frenzied design! Such guise
The ache of mind has hidden in its sieve.
Sweet smell does not foretell a fruited strength,
Nor season last, past is past; bereave
With me, for sweetened fever has no length...
Inhale! The breath of Spring may bring surcease,
Where weeping suckles honey’s inner peace.
