Mutant! Who would have guessed beauty hidden
in death could reach into mind and find a
niche? Oh, gorgeous earth, who created Men,
your mutant stands as long as my life stays!
I trace curving lines with mind’s fingertips,
marvel your form as I cut you free, come,
live with me, ‘til death do us part; eclipse
me, mutant; in this world I feel so numb.
I understand, mutant, you’ve opened my
heart, but wasted your dart; already, I
feel my dearth. Cruel mutant! Do you fly?
You’ve unseated me, no more can I tell lies…
I marvel at you, at time, at mind; be,
mutant--can I find your beauty in me?
