Cosmos Creator

The dawn shouldered night’s displacement,
Jupiter and Venus glowed with lover’s pride,
sheltering shadowed star-children
with the benevolence of the old and wise.
My favorite time of day, dawn; its
escalating birth soul-cycled and sweet.
Coffee brewed, cats fed, computer on,
I enjoyed the quietude before the day’s storm.
Time moved swiftly, then stopped to abide
within my mind…
The sun now lit up the living room
with sulky brilliance, shafting
its straight lines through the blinds.
Walking within its strobe affects
made me dizzily light-sick, and my eyes
wanted to hide from being disjointed
from centered mind’s stable bed.
The air was thick with cigarette smoke,
it was time to deodorize, so I grabbed the Oust,
sprayed, and a Cosmos came alive…
The tiny droplets of liquid scent gently fell
into a blue-hazed turbulence. White seeds
met swirling currents of seas gone wild,
began to drop through at different rates.
The first spray paved the way for its brethren
to fly, cascading down like shooting stars
of atomic might.
Again, I swept the spray above the smoky sea,
again, the droplets fell, but then they were
sucked back up into a roiling disarray of movement.
I watched with utter delight, reached my hand
into those nebulae, and changed my future.
I became a Cosmic Creator, a destiny to this
brief flash of original life…
I puffed and blew, aimed and sprayed,
face smiling and id amazed. Though still in
my house, I was galaxies wide, and I continued
to form and reform this cosmos to my whim,
experimented with heights and angles, and
totally lost myself to this other side of Time.
The cigarette was almost gone, the can,
nearly empty, when I felt what I had contrived
had repleted and enthralled me long enough.
So I snuffed out the cigarette,
and closed the blinds.
