Emotionality Verses Time

I wonder, much of the time, when
I think I am weeping for the world, if
I am not weeping for me.
Oh, sure, the world has had some tough
Last years, in its specialized relativity.
Specialization, though, is actually
Nature’s path to extinction.
I wonder, all the time, anymore,
Why I think I am special, why I weep
For me through the world.
Yeah, I know, a grain of sand cannot compare
To the sum of the whole, which is where
I see a huge hole. It is not so much
Egotism, more like awareness.
I wonder, way beyond now, I wonder why
I think I have the luxury to weep.
Except, I am not just weeping for myself.
Yet, I am… I cannot seem to harmonize
The compromises I see surrounding me.
It is like Sci-Fi unequivocally denied,
But, come to be.
I wonder if someone is tallying
My Time of time on this specialized world,
As I weep over its loss of rhyme.
