Could I Be A Son?

I know
I am female,
I cherish, with tears,
Each day dawning,
But, could I be a son?
I know,
I know
Nothing, with
Each day’s dawning,
But, could I be a son?
Even if
I was whining,
I would still rather be,
With each day dawning,
A daughter, and not
A bastardized son.
