Dear Erin, if I may call you by this name. This is the first time I saw your writing, as you described a few flowers, which I grew up with. My dad used to grow carnations on our balcony. He made them grow bigger, stronger and beautiful. He used to insert grains of barley in their stems.

Lilac and roses, I keep multiplying them every year in my garden. On my farm I used to have fields of shamrock. In my garden I have iris and lilies and more. I love flowers and I let them grow in large patches. Your poem describes well my flowers too, but you are lucky to have them in January. I have to wait at least four months. I talk to them when I water them. I rarely cut them unless I have a guest who loves them.
