To Be A Moth

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

How like a moth
I am! Is it
Better to be
Mid-lifed,
In skys of night?

Is it bitter
To be just that?
At night? In
Mid-life;
In lights of skys?

Isn’t it better to be
A moth, than other
Things? To be
Mid-wifed
In why’s stubborn sight?

How like a moth
I am! It is
A blizzard to be
A moth,
In mid-flight.

I like how you worded this, very much - the imagery, the words - once again, you astound. Well done, Erin.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
