Maybe Orion is Pregnant

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Maybe Orion, arising,
Is pregnant, again,
This Winter,
Turned upside down
And inside out.

Maybe Stars are too slow
To show they care
What’s going on.

Maybe Orion, reswording,
Pierced himself, again,
This Spring,
Turned downside up
And outside in.

Maybe we will never know,
But, to show we care
Is what’s going on,

Re-echoing,
Sideward lost.
