When Wiser Wears Away

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

When Wiser ways about itself, where does
Wiser ware? Plutonic? Venal? Martians?
When were struggles to survive, what wonders
Run and hide? Graves reside in alarmists.

Sigh. When wiser tomorrows scout themselves,
Where is wiser-when. When why repeats it-
Self, is that when we begin, with Itself?
I’d run and hide! Wouldn’t you? I guess bits

Of labored pieces of re-wise proceeds
Peace of mind. I guess we don’t have slows’ time
Left. Right now, Wiser is lidded. Whose seeds
Live? There are no hiding places with Time

To spare. When wisdom wares above all else,
Wiser seems to disappear, with Itself.
