Variations of a Three-Something

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Being             Here I am

Fugly               in the land

Hurts.               of thought.

Variations of a three-something…

One + a

Zero-held-space

Equals two.

                                                 _ I guess successful people

                                                     Can focus they’re attention

                                                       Mine can’t stop moving

                                                         From one thing to another.

One plus just zero

Equals me.

                                                           ~Do we what-happens-then

                                                              When we’re leached out?

One + Ot (a-one-space)

= three.

                                                              ^ Being ever-you

                                                                  Within reach

                                                                    Hurts. Where am I?

zEROd. By

One.

                                                                    *Here I am

                                                                        In the land of thought.

My friends always tell me "You're so focused," they don't know the bedlum going on in my mind, thank God.

Loved this

You're so good at this Erin. Obviously I'm not. -gene.

Erin,
It's always a temptation for us readers to put 'fragments' together as if we were trying to fix Humpty Dumpty or a fallen smashed vase but here they are so meaningful by themselves and as part of the whole at the same time, they are streams and bits of consciousness, but too of feeling and evaluation. I love what you do with this both in terms of language and symbol. For me this was a unique read and I cherish it. Excellent!

lol. I love it. You wrote it the way things are thought. Original for sure. Liz

Erin,

How original and unusual! Telling of your sorrows by mathematical equations. And the way it's written tells of your broken feelings about yourself.

Erin,

Self loathing is what comes up, no matter how I add it up. Anger. Sadness. Know I suck at math, but are you okay? "zEROd. By One." God?!? Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
