You shine so bright!
Illuminating
My last night.

Stupid Moon!

The fire lasts
Far beyond
My forward dance.

Stupid Moon,

Of fawn-home-light.
Wisconsin sings
A melody, of one last night.

the man in the moon is a indeed a bit superfluous ...

Although I don't know the circumstances behind this write I felt like it was a lover, staring into a campfire perhaps under a full moon on a last night of a summer vacation...knowing the morning will bring a farewell...who else can she blame.
