Tiny Crystal Skulls

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Thursday, November 12, 2009

*twinkle toes,
And sighs of whys,
Tangle with
Crystal highs.*

Kitten-wise,
We have a new one;
Finally, a little girl this time;
Her skull is so tiny.

Thrown into a Corral
Garbage can, the only one left
Of her mother-siblings,
Rescued, fostered, than, homed.

With us.

Baby-wide killings,
Pretty-stupid; spirit-wise,
Even worse, somehow; wonderfully,
We have our newest animal life,

Kitten-skulled, from corral-cats;
She’s a beauty! Swats and swits with
Kitten enthusiasm, the neighbors thought
She might be brain-damaged. She’s not.

She’s just ‘kitten-shelled’.

*tiny bones,
And whys of sighs,
Wrangle with
Crystal byes.*

Sense you didn't want another kitten, but you've been given her: take care of her. She's yours ... well done, Erin.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Sounds like someone's heart is captured by a little furball.

Love how you've constructed this, Erin, and its mood, tone and language.
