The Direction of Eyes

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Mortal enemies

Are bad enough, with

Their eyes. Nothing is right.

                 don’t have any (eyes)

My cats like me,

I guess I’m okay, cats eyes,

Mortal wise. Though frightening.

                  don’t want any (eyes)

I think I understand

- oh, great, once again, eyes

Deleted, by touch.

                  won’t wear my (eyes)

My mortal enemies,

Seem somehow to be me,

Right is nothing.

                 don’t want to (die)
