If I were a bat,
And my wings were
Dissolving, from a fungi,
Would it be better
If I knew that?
If I were a Tasmanian devil,
With unsupported tumors
On my face, would I wish
That somebody cared
Enough? If I knew that?
If I were a Pakistani,
And the world were dissolving
Under my feet, would I 9/11 naught-
Again. Call it fate? It doesn’t matter,
Death, I guess, I know that…
If I were an ant,
And my feet were evolving
Paths, among us, would I wonder
Wouldn’t it be better to be
Silent? If I knew That?
