Low-Flying Muses...

Watch out....oh, hurry, ack, run like the wind!
Quick, hide...whew, it didn’t see us again...
Man, this is getting disgusting, hiding like a thief,
when all I want is to write
a poem about a leaf, but, noooo,
I have an energetic muse chasing after me,
squalling and mewling and being purile,
ugh, god, can’t it see I’m nearly senile!
It’s life-force and vibrance set me afire
but, often the thoughts become so a’mired,
the battle is fought, with me knowing naught,
meanings so true , without being bought,
in clearness so sought,
sets teeth straight on edge, the memories dredged,
oh muse of us all, clearer message is bridged,
and pleasure is found,
with muses heart-pound,
my world’s all alight
with muses good night,
making the me,
what I bring to the we,
in the way that I see,
in great company.

Was having a bit of fun with a moderator on the Poetry Pages, tongue-in-cheek wise! Things got out of hand and it is one of the funnier strings we had going!
Sort of like being caught between two loves isn't it. (((hugs))) Billl
