(Body language,
eye contact,
facial ballet...
of meanings.)
The neighbor comes over,
to the back door,
my daughter's doing dishes...
she needs something
I happen to have,
*eye contact* her
expression is familiar to me,
I give a slight lift
of my eyebrows, and
a smug smirk, a
puppy dog face
comes over her,
I draw closer,
we chitchat about nothing,
crinkleing our eyes, I
glance at my daughter's back,
her eyes flick there also,
and back up to mine, as she gives
a small lopsided smile,
hands in pockets, slightly
leaning backwards,
*body language* I
smile at her wickedly,
because I can,
glancing again at a
back that has grown ears,
as she lifts her eyebrows,
widens her eyes,
and turns up
the corners of her mouth
slightly...
*facial ballet* I
laugh out loud, enjoying myself!
As I open the screen door
and start outside to talk,
a twinkle appears in her eye,
she whispers loudly, "I
need to borrow a .^.*&.",
my eyes widen in stunned amazement
at her brashness, and sharpen,
as I glance into the house...
tactful daughter hasn't
shown any interest, but
by her stance, I see she's
grinning. With an accusatory
glare, but smiling eyes, at
neighbors feigned sheepish look,
I tell her
I'll meet her at her house
in 10 minutes...
