It's been years
since we were married,
teen-aged sweethearts
of the times.
With break-ups
and breakdowns,
several times
we were apart.

Simple Justice marriage,
simple silver band,
is all I ever needed
as we walked
hand-in-hand.

In those years
we moved about,
shared the load
of Time's emotions
and the bouncings
of Life's apple cart.

Had our children,
and settled down,
you toil with pride
and with conscience,
help raise our girls
and teach them well.

Simple Justice marriage,

is all I'll ever need,
as we walk
hand-in-hand.

And, my darling,
all these years,
you
have made me strong.
I don't want
fancy jewels,
you are the diamond
of my heart.
