Hey diddly squat,
I have to wash a pot,
hey diddly day,
I can’t come out and play.
(Pork chops browning,
sprinkler sprinkling,
how can I
ever start thinking?)
London’s falling,
children bawling,
baa, baa, black weep,
can we get some sleep?
(As I was skipping to St. Ives,
I tripped and fell
into a kid’s hive…)
Twinkle, sinking,
little star,
how I ponder,
what we are…
(Ring around the necktie,
momma’s gonna say bye…)
Once upon a rhyme,
the world evolved in Time,
God strode in
to lend a hand
and scrambled all our minds.
(Three little mittens,
lost their fitting's,
and they began to cry.)
Little Him Toughit,
rode in on this Muffit,
blowing the spider away.
(She struck a flame
to see the light,
and feel the glow
of human life.)
Hey diddily pot,
I have to cross and dot,
my p’s and q’s
are showing through,
hey diddly squat.
