Where Was I, When I Loved You?

If I can love you like I do
With no condition, nothing due,
No proof to earn, no prize to win,
Then what holds back that love within?

If I can give without a claim,
Without a promise, badge or aim,
Then why can't I, turn that around,
And feel the depth on my own ground?

Why wait for reasons to begin
To hold myself with love within?
Why beg for worth or plead for grace,
When I already own that place?

If you could light what’s mine alone,
Imagine what my heart has grown, 
If I could pour and still remain,
Then I can hold myself the same.
