LOVER BOY by W. L. Baker
Who’s your lover now.
When I sit and think about the time
We spent together.
I can’t help wondering
Who’s your lover now.
Our time together was brief
But It meant so much to me.
I can’t help wondering,
Who’s your lover now.
When we were together
I didn’t have to wonder
About what you were doing
Or where you were.
You were on my mind
Almost all the time.
But that time is gone now,
Along with the quiet moments
And, the passion we shared.
Now I sit here all alone
and I can’t help thinking
And sometimes wondering
Who’s touching you now?
Will they find the places I found?
Will that kiss be there?
The kiss that came without a sound.
That kiss that caused an urgent, burning fire.
It doesn’t hurt my love, my precious one, my dear.
The pain is almost good.
Those moments with you
Were a thing of beauty ,
Understanding, love, and so much joy.
I’ve learned the best way to handle this,
Is not to think about the one I miss, and wonder,
Who could be loving you now.
