Dying Fall

The first few cool days and turning leaves....Fall is arriving!

Leaves cling to the trees as if knowing their fate should they fall -

The glory of being observed from atop a majestic limb compares not

To the fate of falling and being trod upon by a careless passer by...

So stubbornly they hold on to the last vestige of their dignity

Before letting go forever…

Gee, Pam...now I'm going to feel guilty
when I trample the leaves, lol!
This is really lovely -- a different view!

Love the fall; always have! I love it even more now since I now live in Texas (summers here are BRUTALLY hot!); but I sure do miss the brilliance of an Ohio autumn! Not the same here in Texas....the colors aren't as brilliant, and it doesn't last as long....

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :)

Lovely poetical Autumn imagery. I'm watching the leaves on the variegated Poplar I planted outside my garden gate turn yellow and fall now. There is a nip in the air sometimes though we still have some lingering humidity occasionally. Have you ever picked up a perfect skeletal leaf? It shows off the veining to perfection. Jackie <> <

Aw, but in the end nature is cruel, perhaps, and the little leaves must go where preordained.
