I wonder why I’m so confused.
The words won’t come like they normally do.
Is this a sign that you might be
The one I've sought eternally?
If it is I do believe
We both are fighting, not just me.
You know they say to use your heart
But you do not, you’re afraid to part
With everything your life’s become
An illusion, what they’ve said to love.
But are you being true to you?
I admit it- I love you.
Drugs have taken all you are
Before we met began their scars.
Has it really been that long?
Don’t fall again__ Fight! Be strong!
The first time I laid eyes on you
I saw much more than you ever knew.
All the problems, all the fear
I could not help, you would not hear.
But I also saw the pretty girl
In you was life, love, the world!
Sorry I could not help you then
But now, let me help you fight, we’ll win!
How do I know my heart speaks true ?
I’ve never had to explain a thing to you.
You speak, I hear, we don’t complain.
We speak our truths, and don’t explain.
It seems my whole life I’ve taught others
But with you I feel free with one another.
Don’t you get tired of learning and preaching?
I’d rather just live life, love you, and be reaching
For everything I could’ve always had
If I hadn’t been wasting my time being sad.
Of course, the first thing you should love is you
But I’d love me more__ If you’d love me too.
A simple request ~ Follow your heart.
Forget your fear, let love be your start.
I promise you it’s for the best.
Help love decide, life does the rest.

But something tells me that’s a lie
To ourselves, In fear to try
Maybe a little difference in life
A piece of freedom, love, and right.
Lady, I’m not a kid anymore!
No other woman like this I adore.
This may seem a plea, but I need nothing.
In all of life, I hope only for one thing-
To give you all I’m truly of:
Eternal life, joy, and love.
So again I ask, are you true to you?
I admit it- How ‘bout you?!

But these are my true st feelings, God as my witness.
