FIVE MINUTES TO FIVE song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

it's five minutes to five
she's been keeping me waiting

trying hard to survive
in my mind I'm creating

on thin ice I am skating
I've been waiting all day
wondring what I should say
if she comes
or she runs

was she once in love with me
was it just a mystery
would she start to cry
would she lie

why
should I even know
if she told me so
if
I stop
believing
I'd have nothing left
time to catch my breath
but I'm still alive
and I'm still pretending
five minutes unto five

sitting in a cafe
sipping coffee and watching the rain
watching the people come and go
again and again and again

time passes so slowly
anxiety rises and falls
is this the end or beginning
or was love a dream after all

five minutes of five
I've been sitting here waiting
I guess I should leave
but I'm still hesitating

if I count to ten
and I start all over again
maybe I'll get to a million
by when becomes then

all across the city
and all across the world
some guy alone at a sidewalk cafe
he waits for a girl

sometimes he is lucky
sometimes in the sun
but more often, more often than not
she never ever comes
