WHAT PRICE GLORY

I knew I knew I knew that there was glory in that jar
and grabbed it and I drunk it and then it hit me hard
glory burned a hole into my gut and in my heart
and there was nothing left to stop me at the very start

oh glory what fools what fools these mortals be
and among these foolish mortals there is none more fool than me
but I had a choice and made it and although I may be free
there is no net below me there is no true safety

tomorrow yes tomorrow a tomorrow to be sure
you could want for nothing less and you deserve not one thing more
although you have a key it's up to you to find the door
and then you have to open it that's what a door is for

what is what and what it is and what was meant to be
or not to be it seems so simple but a mystery
there seems to be a reason for all things from A to Z
except for what is in the mirror you don't want to see

glory oh glory
what price do I have to pay
glory oh glory
to be alive just one more day
I would give all that I have
I would promise all I owe
just to know
just to know
just to know if it is so
