GOING BACK TO TIPPYTOE song lyrics
by Joel Sattler
going back to Tippytoe
that is where I want to go
what thought was true aint so
thought I knew but didn't know
going back
back to Tippytoe
Tippytoe, hello !
I was born in Louisiana
back up in the sticks
racing cars and moonshine
was how we got our kicks
went down to New Orleans
with a bag of tricks
I don't know how I even
got into this fix
had a hand to fold me
shouldn't've messed with cards
had a girl who rolled me
boy I took it hard
ignored what they told me
feathered me and tarred
then a slaver sold me
caught me off my guard
now I am so hungry
throw the man a bone
man I am so angry
hard to be alone
all the cops are laughing
hearts are made of stone
I would be so happy
if you take me home
I should have appreciated
what all the while I had
but I overestimated
and it turned out bad
doing time is overrated
solitude is sad
but I will be so elated
to see my Mom and Dad
going back to Tippytoe
that is where I want to go
what thought was true aint so
thought I knew but didn't know
going back
back to Tippytoe
Tippytoe, hello !

Reviews of "GOING BACK TO TIPPYTOE song lyrics by Joel Sattler"
Nice and catchy. Only one thing… Like the "wheat fields of St. Paul" moonshine running in Louisiana just ain't so. Don't have to be run there… Except maybe, in Tippy Toe.
